A soul thirsting for God
O God, you are my God,
for you I long for you my soul is thirsting.
My body pines for you,
like a dry weary land without water.
So I gaze on you in the sanctuary
to see your strength and your glory.
For your love is better than life,
my lips will speak your praise.
So I will bless you all my life,
in your name I will lift up my hands.
My soul shall be filled as with a banquet,
my mouth shall praise you with joy.
On my bed I remember you.
On you I muse through the night,
for you have been my help;
in the shadow of your wings I rejoice.
My soul clings to you;
your right hand holds me fast.
Novena Prayer
God, our Father, you are a God who loves me. I thank you for the many blessings you have given me. In loving trust, I place myself before you. Let your healing love fill my life. Give me the strength to understand my illness. Forgive my failures in carrying the cross. In St. Peregrine you gave us an example of patient suffering. Supported then by his prayers, I ask that the suffering I endure may be a source of life both now and forever. I make this prayer through Christ your Son.

Lord, you have known the pain of suffering. Be with me in my pain, and comfort me in my loneliness. Forgive my impatience and bless my efforts to be generous to all.

Holy Spirit, bless me with the gift of understanding. Bring healing to my life and to the lives of my loved ones. Send your gift of forgiveness to me and to those I may have hurt in the past.

Prayer
Remembering the example of St. Peregrine who has gone before us marked with the sign of faith, may we strive to find meaning in our own suffering. We make this prayer through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Priest: Dear brothers and sisters, we have come together in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, who restored the sick to health and who suffered so much for us. He is present among us as we recall the words of the Apostle James: " Is there any among you sick? Let him call for the priests and ministers of the Church and let them pray over him and bless him in the name of the Lord. This prayer made in faith will save the sick man." Let us entrust our sick brother/sister (name) to the power and strength of Jesus Christ, through the intercession of St. Peregrine so that Christ may ease his/her suffering and restore health.
"They shall lay their hands on the sick and they shall recover". May Jesus, the Son of Mary, and the Savior of the world, through the intercession of St. Peregrine, be merciful and favorable to you and free you from sickness. We make this prayer through Christ our Lord.

Prayer
O God, in St. Peregrine you gave us an outstanding example of faith and patience. We humbly ask you that by imitating him and by the help of his prayers, we will believe more fully in Your healing help, bear the sufferings of this life without wavering, and come with joy to the peace of heaven. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.
Final Prayer
May God grant us a spirit of self-sacrifice so that we may offer everything to Him: our time, our abilities, our health and even our lives if necessary. Instill in us a love for others that will move us out of ourselves to reach out to others and bring them life. Help us endure the pain in our human spirit when each new life is born. Amen.
May the Lord, through the intercession of St. Peregrine, deliver you from all evil and sickness. In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.
